QBASIC is Microsoft's version of ANSI BASIC. It forms the basis of the modern Microsoft BASICs such as Visual BASIC, VBA and VBScript. Programs written in QBASIC can be interpreted by the QBASIC interpreter or can be compiled by the QuickBASIC 4.5 compiler, the VBDOS compiler, the Microsoft BASIC Professional Development System Version 7.x, or the FreeBASIC compiler.
